Paris -- "I Used to Act Dumb"

Paris Hilton got on the horn with Barbara Walters yesterday, and told her that she felt "caged" in jail, but said that she's tired of playing "dumb" and that "God has given me this new chance."

"Good Morning America" reports that Babwa was on the phone with Paris' mom Kathy when Paris called in on the other line -- and said she wanted to talk to Walters directly. So Paris called her collect in New York, and they had a brief chat. Among the highlights: "I was not eating or sleeping. I was severely depressed and felt as if I was in a cage. ... It was a horrible experience." More details of the conversation will be unveiled on "The View" later.

And in case you missed it over the weekend ... TMZ told you that Paris won't appeal her sentence, that she was "teetering on the brink" and "depressed" on Saturday while in jail, and, yesterday, that all she's eating is cereal and bread, but that she's feeling better on her meds. Check back for more Paris all day long.

More Paris -- Peeps Get Express Check-in, At-Home Spray Tans?

Meanwhile, Paris Hilton's sister Nicky and her ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos paid a visit to the world's most famous inmate yesterday, but some non-VIP visitors are bellyaching that that they got unfairly express treatment.

Nicky and Stav saw Paris for about half an hour, reports the New York Post, but only had to wait about 15 minutes -- whereas other, less exalted visitors had to wait two to four hours. "This isn't right," said one woman, who had waited for four hours. "We take off our Saturdays and Sunday to come here and do this."

In other Paris news, Usmagazine.com reports that Paris had an at-home spray tan session from Portofino Sun Spa during the day she was home to get back some color after her first three days inside. "She was in a great mood and so happy to be home," says an Us source.

Did Ryan Blame Simon for "Idol" Ratings Drop?

Ryan Seacrest says that "American Idol" took a ratings hit this season because there's just too much Simon Cowell. When asked about the ratings drop, reports the Globe and Mail (via MSNBC), Seacrest said, "Well, the knee-jerk reaction would be Simon. Clearly, there's an oversaturation of his character." (Somehow, we don't think he's being exactly serious.) Ryan also pointed out that ratings are still sky-high and that any suggestion that there's going to be a judge change is total bunk. "That's clearly rumor, I'm positive you can't recreate the chemistry that we have with the group on 'American Idol.'"

Party Favors: Real Madrid to Beckham -- Not So Fast! ... When Mad McPhans Attack! .... Fans on "Sopranos" End -- Fuhgeddaboudit!

Real Madrid head honcho Ramon Calderon says he's going to "do all we can to make him stay," instead of letting him play for the L.A. Galaxy later this summer. ... Things took a turn for the worse when Ally (the intern) asked about McPhee's older boyfriend. ... 136. I want to clarify my statement. The reason for which we are pulling out is that we can not support a country, which does not serve it own citizens right. We believe that the court should totally separated from the police force and the prison system.

So in Denmark the court does not have anything to do with how an inmate is doing its time. They can outline the length and type of stay, but if it is altered, it is the problem of the prison system.

So if they are low-risk offenders, they can be seen in the streets after a short while, regardless of the fact that they perhaps have been sentenced to 5 years or more. Why? Often people have been ordered to attend either a school or work in a charity organization or a firm with an agreement with the prison system. They have to go there alone og return in the evening at certain times - some with a leg bracelet others without - but they keep what they have promised, because most take the oppotunity to start their life over.

Others are, when they have been identified as ill, transferred to regular hospitals. They have lock-down units and open units also.

So in generally the prison system decides 100 per cent who is where. In 2006 only 1 of 4 of the normal people serving time in the danish prison system was in jail Christmas Eve. The others was sent home to be with their family. That means that some offenders with violence on their record was released also. But did having more than 2000 persons released extraordinary result in extra crime being committed? No it did not, because every prisoner wants to qualify for activitives outside prison.

So no one are released ealier than the court orderes, but it is the prison system who has the experts to investigate how dangerous a certain inmate is, so it is them who decides who is serving time home, in closed prison or in night prison having a job outside. (BTW. A prison year in Denmark are 8 months because our rules about holidays applys to inmates also. So 5 years means about 3-4 years.)

As for Miss Hilton as president.

She would not have any problem being either foreign minister or prime minister in Denmark. Our foregin minister has done time for DUI about 40 years back. Our prime minister was fired as minister for our IRS because he ordered them to manipulate their books. Because we all do that regarding taxes, there is no problem with the tax-department doing it also as long as they are not caught, but they was and he was fired but not procecuted because the emberrasment of them manipulating the books gave us all a laugh.

The man who took over is now in court for - manipulating the books in his town, when he was mayor.

So when Miss. Hilton has done her time - whether in home, sick ward or in prison - she would be an exelent candidate in some 10-20 years. Remember, she has been around in the world and knows cultures (Maybe only inside the bars, but have any of you taken the time to see more of a country in Europe).

The best thing, she can do when she leaves the prison is to live a couple of years in Europe just to make things cool down. Not only for her sake, but also for yours as your present President has seen the oppotunity to be a big spender and secure his reputation in our minds as a good President during the G8-summit. He knew that nobody back home cared about what he paid for because your press was not present. They were covering Miss Hilton.

She should be so welcome in Denmark. We should teach her not to drink and drive. She can go about people of equal standard. Right now people living near the beach complains that the parents does not fetch their children (down to aged 10) before midnight, so the children instead are sleeping it off on the beach. It makes out beaches look dirty when they have poohed or spewed during the night.

She could sit down and drink with them as she properly would level with them or she could join our corps of night owls (Parents, who are patroling the streets and beaches in order to find druken teens and getting them transported home). I guess that most parents would try to avoid having their child in the newpaper in a drunken state, while the child is being picked up by Miss. Hilton.

But she should leave your country and return in a couple of years, where she then would be - in my mind - an exelent candidate for president.

What did Mr. Bush do when he was 26 and he is a good president. Is he not?

137. Paris told Babwa Wawa she found God in jail. What's HE in for?

138. Found God? Barbara Walters just "happens" to be on the phone with Kathy Hilton? VIP treatment for her visitors? Yeah, like none of this was planned in advance. What a load of crap. Actions speak louder than words and the only proof that Paris Hilton has found God will be if she refrains from her partying ways and no longer goes to the clubs. Like that's going to happen.

Paris would have been better served by her parents if she had been made to change some sheets in some Hilton Hotels and learned what real people have to experience.
