ANOTHER DeBarge DeBusted!

Who knew there were so many DeBarges in trouble with the law?! TMZ has learned younger brother Jonathan Arthur "Chico" DeBarge was busted on August 30 for allegedly having illegal drugs and cash in his car. Who's holding Donna now?!?

In the police report, cops say DeBarge and a female companion were driving a Toyota Camry on a Los Angeles highway when an officer observed them stop in a turn lane and switch seats. When they were pulled over by California Highway Patrol, cops say "illegal drugs and cash" were found in the car.

Chico, who once recorded a song called "Soopaman Lover," is being held on $30,000 bail.

Police arrested Chico's older brother El DeBarge for outstanding warrants on August 26 -- just four days before his brother! As of today, he's still in el slammer.

Gettin' the band back together!

16. I have to agree these DeBarge stories are lame. These guys have been in and out of jail for years so this is nothing new. Contrary to the comment made by the person who went to high school with Chico, the fact is the DeBarges had trouble with the law loooong before Chico was in high school. Chico himself did jail time BEFORE his first album, which was great music I might add. I have a hard time believing he was ever a Mr. Nice Guy.

The city of Stockton is no where near US-101 witch in fach should be CA-99 or Intstertate 5 to make any since. Us- 101 Is in a tottally differnce county (area) then posted. I would have to say its fake..

18. sorry #17, the album you refer to was done after his stint in the slammer. He had previously released another album prior to that. The drugs etc started when Tommy and Bobby were in Switch and were handed drugs by the record label. These guys grew up dirt poor without a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of and didn't know how to handle the money or success. Motown got them hooked and then dropped them from the label and kept most of the money.

21. Actually I was watching 100 greatest child actors on VH1 two days ago and Malcolm Jamal Warner was featured. Also if you have TV One - The battle of the "Thelma's" from Good Times and Amen were featured with what they look like now. Different World (My favorite) was instituted on Nick at Night last year and the reunion photos were shot, (no Kimberly Reese though).

Unfortunately ( I guess) I do care about the DeBarge's they have made a lot of money from Tupac, Babyface, Mary and Biggie sampling their songs. They still got quite a bit of loot from residuals. Too bad about the drugs though, I though they would have learned their lesson back in the eighties. I know James is like, "I'm finally the good one!" Janet played him in the media.

24. Before we make a mock of El and of his family, keep in mind about the memories & enjoyment they've given us for years. There's nothing funny about a black male, nor woman going to jail...especially concerning the charges that he faces.

Please pray with all sincerity for his mother & the entire family. It's very easy to judge and look down on someone when they're at their lowest, what's wrong with encouraging instead of discouraging?

We should also try to be careful about our comments, you never know who's reading.

Be Blessed

25. To GR DJ
Good to see someone else from GR is concerned about our boys. I know most GR brothers are jealous hatters, and enjoy seeing them fall.

26. Sorry #24.... the songwriters get the money not the singers and most of their songs were written by others....

27. To #26

El and Chico do write and compose there own material, and they do get royalties.

I know this for a fact.

28. I'm like everyone else it must be real slow cause I ain't feeling DeBarge. Let's dig up some blasts from the past were is "Wally" and what has he been doing? Oh! let's not forget "Lemont". At least we found "Themla" what is she doing??

29. To 26..... I don't doubt the boys do write their own stuff. However, a quick Google check of a few of their money making hits brings this.... Rhythm of the Night composed by Diane Warren, Who's Johnny composed by Peter and Ina Wolf, Who's Holding Donna Now composed by David Foster.....so alothough there may be some royalties coming in it ain't much..... my prayer for them is to get their rear ends back in church where they grew up.....
