227. mandm, If you bash Daughtry, then I will say something about it, no matter where you post it, and I don't care what you think about it. As for Daughtry, you've got it all wrong. Chris is a success because of his TALENT, and because he made an awesome CD, and it has nothing to do with Clive, and TPTB. They don't tell anyone what CD's to buy, or not to buy, no matter what you think.. You idiots just can't admit that Daughtry are accomplishing in the real world what you thought Taylor would accomplish, but you were WRONG, so therefore you make excuses and conspiracy theories up in your delusional minds to try and explain it, but all you do is make yourself look even more JEALOUS everytime you post. Taylor is nothing more than a "Real" lounge singer who happened to get enough votes to win on a reality show, but in the real world, Chris will always be #1.
As for your question, I don't listen to top 40 radio, and in fact I hardly ever listen to the radio at all, but mostly just play CD's, so your little theory is WRONG.

Sure he is talented, but talent alone is not what makes you a superstar.There are many talented artists out there that are not being spun on the radio everyday.So you think that all these artists out here that aren't selling millions of cds are b/c they are not talented?If he was so so talented then why couldn't he even pull off a win or even get into the top 3 on a stupid reality show?It took TPTB to make him what he is.The TPTB make a lot of people big superstars by serious hype and radio play.Elliott is a better singer than Daughtry, Mandisa would blow both of them away, but they aren't selling millions and that is b/c they are not with major hype producing labels and aren't being spun like crazy.Your correlation between cd sales=talent is silly and naive.The fact that he played up to the already popular genre of music that is already selling, b/c of those before him...Live, nickleback, creed etc. almost guaranteed him quick sales to those who already love that kind of music.He was just a new face behind the same kind of music being played and is popular right now.People wantéd to check him out...some like him, some don't.The entertainment industry can make even the most undesirable, untalented people superstars...Paris Hilton is a superstar and for what?What has she actually accomplished by herself?Oh I know, being born as a Hilton.Daughtry is good, but he is nothing more or nothing less than what is already out there.It's good to see people so passionate about something, but maybe you should direct that to something more useful unless your life is just that boring.

230. You actually forgot to put IMO after your comments about Elliott and Mandisa becauuse it's not a fact at all, and is just YOUR OPINION. I happen to think that Chris is a much better vocalist than both Elliott and Mandisa, and I can see why he sold much more than either one of them. . It's not about music genre at all, because rock is NOT the most popular genre, nor is it anywhere close to being. Chris has done so well based on his TALENT, whether you want to believe it or not. I do know it's the truth, so just go ahead and keep repeating your stupid conspiracy theories and maybe one day you might find someone that is actually delusional enough to be interested in them, but I happen to think they're nothing but excuses you made up to explain why Taylor is selling less than 200 CD's each week.
As for Paris Hilton, she's relying on her LOOKS to get her to the top, and there'll always be those that do, whereas Daughtry got where they are now based on their talent. Why don't you just face the facts. Taylor didn't have the talent to make it in the music indust,y so he's basically going back to what he was doing prior to Idol. I'm sure there's a few weddings that might hire him out, as long as he promises not to spaz all over the place.

231. I THINK TAYLOR HICKS IS A GREAT GUY. HE IS VERY TALENTED AND A GREAT PREFORMER AND GREAT VOICE. I LISTEN TO HIM EVERYDAY. I ALREADY WENT TO TWO OF HIS CONCERTS AND LOOKING FORWARD TO MANY MORE. I never said the MOST popular, good grief, but it is very popular.The fact that you refuse to acknowledge what most people already know is beyond baffling.I think your the one that really needs to get out in the real world.You are very naive.You can tell yourself till your blue in the face that TPTB had nothing to do with Daughtry's success, but I bet you even Daughtry would agree that it had everything to do with it.Most artists need that help no matter how talented they are.They can make you or break you.If he didn't need their help, then why on earth would he have given up such a large percentage of his earnings to a label to get himself out here in the industry?He still would be working at the car place and playing gigs here and there at some bar.I think your main problem is that you confuse your personal taste in music to music you don't like as being bad music and those that sing the music you don't like are not talented.You may not like the christian style of music that Mandisa sings, but you can't deny her vocal chops are much better than Daughtry.As for Taylor, you don't like his style, but when he sings the kind of music that he likes, his vocals are outstanding.His stage presence is far superior than most everyother idol to come off that show.He knows how to entertain and sing.And don't even go there with Daughtry, cuz I have seen a few of his videos and his stage personality is not impressive at all.I've been spoiled by the likes of Taylor.

I have been to two Taylor Hicks concerts; he puts on a really great concert, great band; he is awesome; just because he has not sold gazillion CD's does not mean he is not talented, because he truly is. I think he has done very well for himself; he is doing what he loves, singing and entertaining the people. His first CD was a very good one, and I am betting his second one will be even better. Sure his music is different, he is different, which is why he got voted No. 1 on Season 5 AI. He is NOT like the rest of the crowd out there ... he marches to a different drummer, which is OK by me.

235. I LOVE Taylor's music and I do think that he is very talented. I'm so happy to see someone have a taste of success but still have time for the locals who supported him before AI. I'm not from AL but I love to visit - it is filled with nice people and places IMO. I would much rather throw my support behind someone who seems to give awho about people other than themselves, like Taylor, as opposed to Paris or Brittney etc... When I went to see Tay perform, he had invited the Red Cross to take donations to aide the victims of the Dothan, AL tornado. I hate to see people give Taylor Hicks a hard time just because he seems to be the kind of person who TRIES to make the world a better place. I would gladly pay $300 for a Taylor Hicks album just because he is a person that seems worthy of my support. No, he is not THE most talented person I've ever heard or seen, but he does PLAY a couple of musical instruments (which is a rare thing in today's music industry) and does have a wonderful singing voice for his kind of music. Thank you TMZ for bringing me this information and I will always be interested in what Tay is doing in the future.

238. Taylor is the real deal, no fronting wanna be here. He wears no makeup or chains, he doesn't stick his tongue out in EVERY pic for the media, doesn't have his name tattooed on his back..LOL No sideshow for him, he doesn't have to put on the circus act.
No models planted at the front rows of his appearances..LOL
He's been doing what he loves for years now and will continue, he will not compromise to be Clive's puppet no matter what the cost. You have to be real and true to yourself to be comfortable in your own skin....Taylor's mighty comfy right now I'd say.
How can the group Daughtry be up for any awards for that CD when the band wasn't even involved in the recording of the CD....another fake....

239. Yack Yack. Anybody that keeps up with Taylor and has been to see him in concert knows the real deal. No need to defend really these people don't know what he has been up to like his real fans do. That boy is a flat musician and constantly playing one form of an instrument at all times all the while dancing and singing and getting the crowd ready to "go to church". Let them say what they want. Hell the only instrument that Chris plays is a bull horn. Nuf said.
