O & Mrs. O
The most powerful woman in America ... and Michelle Obama, had dinner in NYC last night.
With apologies to Gayle King, it looks like Oprah has a new BFF.

Oprah is setting the record straight on her locks -- she's weave free. Apparently this is a hot topic for O worshipers, so she addressed it on her show yesterday by releasing a picture of her natural hair -- before it's straightened.
The picture may explain her non-weave, but where the hell did her eyelashes go?

Oprah Winfrey just had another Aha! Moment -- when she decided to wage a legal war against an insurance company using her signature catchphrase.
Just a few days ago, Oprah's lawyers fired off a cease and desist letter to Mutual of Omaha demanding they shut down their plans to run a gigantic advertising campaign with the slogan, "Official sponsor of the aha moment."
In the letter, sent April 21, Oprah's peeps claim they have the rights to the "Aha Moment" slogan and they threatened to sue because O doesn't want Mutual to mislead her fans into thinking she's associated with them.
But Mutual of Omaha is fighting back with a lawsuit, claiming that even if Oprah had trademark rights to the phrase, she "abandoned" those rights by failing to "police their alleged mark" when other businesses used it in the past.
In the suit, filed Wednesday in federal court in Nebraska, Mutual asks the judge to rule that they have the right to use the phrase in their campaign.
A rep for O tells us, "Harpo has not filed a lawsuit or counterclaim against Mutual of Omaha. We hope to reach an amicable resolution on this issue."

Today's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" was supposed to mark the 10 year anniversary of the massacre at Columbine High School -- but not anymore.
Oprah just announced on her website she's decided to pull the episode: "I decided to pull the Columbine show today. After reviewing it, I thought it focused too much on the killers. Today, hold a thought for the Columbine community. This is a hard day for them."
Instead, Oprah will air an episode about a mother being released from prison.

What's the one phrase that can get mild-mannered Danny Glover doubled over? Well, if you're a photog with a lot of balls, and you've seen "The Color Purple," you might know that it sounds a little like this:
"What's it like to be the only person to wear the pants in a relationship with Oprah?"
Too bad Whoopi Goldberg was the woman he was shacked up with in the movie ...

Jennifer Hudson appeared on Oprah today for the first time since her family tragedy back in October -- and while she didn't directly mention the events, she says she's doing "good" and music's been her "therapy."
Hudson performed on the show too. She totally nailed it.

There's something other than Stedman standing in the way of Oprah and Gayle: Gayle's inability to ... text message.

The father of Nadya Suleman appeared on Oprah today -- and he flat out asked O if she could help get his daughter mentally evaluated, because he believes she's not all there.
Ed Doud, who's been shouldering the burden of 14 children with his ex-wife, OctoGrandma Angela, says he only has $100 in his bank account -- and choked back tears when he said he needs to leave the country, and his grandchildren, to get back to work "overseas."
He says he can only stick around for another one to two weeks -- then it's two less hands to help around the house, which could soon be on the auction block.

While out in Beverly Hills this weekend, Oprah Winfrey showed off one of her favorite things ... frozen yogurt.
But fear not -- the Big O worked off the calories by actually walking amongst other pedestrians.

If Oprah Winfrey was under consideration for Barack Obama's Senate seat by Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, it was news to her....
Oprah told BFF Gayle King on her Sirius radio show she never was contacted by Guv Rod Blagojevich. It's a good thing, says Oprah, she wasn't watching "GMA," because "I would have fallen off the treadmill."
Now that's good news....

Guv Rod Blagojevich told us outside the Trump International Hotel in NYC this morning he had no idea if the "larger than life" Oprah Winfrey would take a call from the lowly governor of Illinois, possibly offering her a seat in the U.S. Senate. R.B. says all the discussions were internal. As for whether he's a Yankees fan....

Senator Winfrey? It could've happened, if Ill. Gov. Rod Blagojevich had had his way.
Just this AM, Blago told Diane Sawyer he wanted Oprah Winfrey to fill the seat vacated by Barack Obama. "She seemed to be someone who would help in a significant way become president," said Gov. Chutzpah, somehow forgetting Oprah would become Senator only AFTER Obama was elected prez.

Turns out Gayle doesn't wear the pants in Oprah's family after all, at least according to Stedman as he blew out of Washington, D.C. yesterday.

Looks like we know just how close Oprah Winfrey's going to be with the Obamas.
She didn't have the big bash everybody (except us) said she was going to do, but O did get a chance to party with the Os at the White House, reports the Chicago Sun-Times. After the Prez and First Lady ditched the last Inauguration ball at 12:45 a.m., they went back to their new house for a spot of champagne with a very exclusive group -- including Ms. Winfrey.
As for why O.W. didn't have this rumored party, Gayle King says it was because there was too much other stuff going on.

Everyone inside -- and outside -- the Beltway has been buzzing about what kind of bash Oprah Winfrey's going to throw to celebrate the Inauguration of the century. Sorry to disappoint you, folks, but it ain't happening.
We're told in no uncertain terms by Oprah's peeps -- she's not throwing a party during Obamafest. There had been loud whispers she would be hosting a shindig at her ex-personal chef Art Smith's new joint, Art and Soul, in the District.
The whispers only got louder when people who tried to get a reservation for Jan. 18-21 were turned away because, they said, the eatery was "bought out" during those dates.
Seems O will be concentrating on her show, which will be live from DC that week -- and keeping an eye on her own waistline.
