Far from the lavish zoo/theme park/mansion it once was, Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch is now a barren, forgotten property that was once fit for a King of Pop.

If Neverland Ranch is turned into a memorial site for Michael Jackson, don't expect MJ's once beloved animals to make a triumphant return.
We spoke to Tippi Hedren -- who runs the Shambala Preserve in California where MJ's former tigers (Thriller and Sabu) live -- and she said, "The animals will not be going back ... they're staying with me at the sanctuary."
We also talked to Freddie Hancock -- the owner of the Voices of the Wild Foundation in Arizona which houses MJ's giraffes, birds and reptiles -- and she told us, "These animals have become a part of our lives as they were a part of Michael's ... [the return to Neverland] would depend on a variety of circumstances."

Michael Jackson bought some pretty expensive art two weeks before he died.
On June 11, Jackson purchased a picture of the Wicked Witch of the West, a painting called "The Donut Queen," and a painting called "Play Ball." The artist for all three works was Nelson De La Nuez. Jackson plunked down $13,000 for the three items, which were delivered to his home on June 15.
We're told Jackson was "obsessed" with the Wicked Witch painting.
Here's the weirdest part. Someone from AEG handled the money side of the transaction. We have the bank wire -- AEG dealt directly with the art seller.

Lil Wayne's lawyer went to court today ... ready to pull the trigger on the "bad dog" defense!
Weezy was busted in January 2008 at a border checkpoint in Arizona, where authorities found cocaine, ecstasy and a handgun on his tour bus. Wayne's lawyer told the judge he thinks the drug-sniffing dogs used in the bust may not have been reliable because they weren't adequately trained.
Why, you ask, does that matter? Well Mr. Wayne's lawyer seems to think if the dogs weren't reliable, the resulting search was illegal and the drugs shouldn't be used as evidence. Tough argument -- the dogs found coke.
The judge has yet to rule on whether Wayne's lawyer can probe into how the dogs were trained.
