Rihanna -- Chris Thought He Was Invincible

Rihanna feels Chris Brown had "no limits" because fame came to him at such a young age -- and that may have played a role in the brutal beating earlier this year.

Rihanna

Rihanna told Diane Sawyer on "20/20" last night, "Fame came to Chris very young ... You're a kid and the word 'no' doesn't exist? You become invincible. There's no right or wrong, you just do."

RiRi also said she hasn't heard Chris' "apology" song and thinks his apology video online looked like he was reading from a teleprompter.

Announcer Cracks 'Taco' Joke at Juan Montoya

A college football broadcast came to a screeching halt yesterday because of announcer Bob Griese -- after he verbally vomited a highly inappropriate comment about Colombian NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya.

 Juan Montoya
During the Ohio State/Minnesota game, the NASCAR promotion turned nasty when broadcaster Chris Spielman asked where Montoya was in the standings ... then Griese let this gem fly: "He's out having a taco."

At the end of the game, Griese issued a bland apology, saying, "Juan Pablo Montoya, he's one of the best drivers in NASCAR, I just want to apologize for the comment that i made earlier in the ballgame."

Courteney Cox Is Always Watching

David Arquette might have been the one who appeared on "GMA" yesterday, but it was still his wife, Courteney Cox, who loomed large over Manhattan.

Paula Abdul -- I've Got Something Lined Up

Paula Abdul is working something out -- more than just her body -- 'cause last night outside of Crunch gym in West Hollywood, Paula hinted that some sort of deal was in the works ... but she wouldn't say with who!

Paula Abdul: Click to watch
Abdul also made it clear she isn't jealous of Posh -- or any other "American Idol" replacement judge -- and raised the point, "they don't ever say that about men ... why does it always have to be women who are jealous?"

We can think of one example -- Dunkleman?

Paula A's Plan B

Sources close to Paula Abdul say even though "Dancing with the Stars" ain't gonna happen, she's still talking to ABC about a show of her very own.

As we first reported, Paula met with ABC honcho Steve McPherson earlier this week and now we're told one of the cards on the table is a possible variety show. And we're told they also discussed a talent competition with Paula in the Simon Cowell seat. Sources say Paula also talked about her desire to become the executive producer.

And there's this little tidbit. We're told Paula's feelings about being "disrespected" by "Idol" execs is more intense than ever after learning Victoria Beckham pulled in a fortune -- reportedly $275,000 an episode.

But sources say she'd still come back to Simon -- if the price ($10,000,000 a year) is right.

Paula Abdul: 'Idol' Ain't So Bad After All!

Sources connected to Paula Abdul say Miss Paula wants back on "American Idol."

Our sources say Paula's Twitter is retracted -- at least in her mind - if the price is right. As we first reported, the magic number is $10 million. Will Paula move from that number? The way negotiations go in Hollywood ... probably, but we don't know for sure and if so how much she's willing to give.

We're also told Paula's meetings with ABC didn't really go anywhere. She doesn't want to do "Dancing with the Stars" -- we're told, in no small part, because she wants to be able to jump on a plane on a moment's notice to rejoin her fellow judges on "Idol."

And, we're told, Paula is piiiised at the producers of "Ugly Betty" for leaking the story that she was talking to them about doing the show. She's not going to do it now.

As for "Idol," as far as we know they've been pretty hard-nosed and haven't contacted her reps, but we're not positive. In the end, we're thinking "A.I." isn't gonna let a little Twitter torpedo one of its golden geese.

Paula AbdulUPDATE: We spotted Paula Abdul out Saturday night at Boa. She didn't quite know where the restaurant was ... or whether or not she would be joining "Dancing with the Stars." Hmmm ...

Man Claims He Got 'Lost' First

There may be one human being on Earth who understands the TV show "Lost" -- a guy who claims he created the show 32 years ago.

Lost Click to view!

Anthony Spinner -- a producer on "Baretta" and "Babes in Toyland" -- says back in 1977 he was paid $30,000 to write a TV pilot, which eventually became a 121-page script called "Lost."

Spinner is now suing ABC and Touchstone Television, claiming the network passed on the show in '77, '91 and '94 ... then suddenly created an exact replica with Touchstone in 2004.

Spinner lists a ton of similarities in his suit -- which was filed on July 10 -- notably an "airplane headed to Los Angeles [that] crashes into a tropical jungle-like environment."

Spinner also alleges the new "Lost" characters -- including Jack, Locke, Sayid, Kate and Sawyer -- are all rip-offs ... down to their occupations and dark pasts.

The comparisons go on and on. Spinner is suing for damages and a cut of royalties, profits and a bunch of other stuff. Spinner tried to sue a few years ago, but it was dismissed for procedural reasons.

ABC Loses Kate Walsh Court Battle

Kate Walsh Court BattleABC televison was shot down in court today by the estranged hubby of Kate Walsh.

The judge ruled Alex Young can make ABC Prez Stephen McPherson sit for a deposition, and answer all sorts of questions about Walsh's financial prospects at ABC -- pilots, development deals, etc.

Walsh and Young were only together as husband and wife for 14 months, but it's turning into one of the most bitter divorces in Hollywood.

ABC claims Young is harassing her and ABC and the motive is $$$.

And here's the best quote from the ABC lawyer: "It's as if Manny Ramirez was getting divorced and the first deposition they want to take is the president of ESPN."

The judge disagreed, so now Young's lawyer can grill the ABC honcho.

Disney Boss: Protect Me From Kate Walsh's Ex!

Kate Walsh Stephen McPhersonThe head honcho at Disney/ABC has been dragged into Kate Walsh's bitter divorce, and he's gone to court asking for protection.

We've learned Walsh's estranged husband, Alex Young, has subpoenaed Stephen McPherson, President of Disney/ABC Television, for a deposition -- to testify what he knows about Kate Walsh and her finances. Disney's lawyers have filed legal papers, obtained by TMZ, asking for a court order blocking any such depo.

Young believes Walsh is not coming clean with all the assets acquired during their 14-month marriage. Young's lawyer, Jeff Sturman, fired off the subpoena to McPherson, claiming he has "unique" knowledge about Walsh's finances since she works for him as the star of "Private Practice."

Disney lawyers have fired back that Young is "harassing" McPherson, "because at the the time of Ms. Walsh acquiring the role on 'Private Practice,' Mr. McPherson was not running ABC Studios."

Disney is willing to send an underling to the depo. We've learned Young has also subpoenaed financial docs from Disney.

Disney and Young will fight it out in court on July 8.

'Lost' Star Sued for Sexual Harassment

Henry Ian Cusick, who plays Desmond on the show "Lost," is being sued for sexual harassment.

According to a lawsuit filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court, Chelsea Stone claims that while working on the show, Cusick placed his hand on her buttocks and caressed the back of her body while making moaning sounds.

She also claims Cusick "placed his face on top of [her] breasts, moving his face from side to side." He then squeezed her breasts with his hands.

According to the lawsuit, approximately twelve days after this went down, Stone was let go. ABC and Grass Skirt Productions are also named as defendants. She is seeking unspecified damages.

Cusick's rep had no comment.

Hard News??? KABC Covers Strip Club Opening

In their pursuit of "credible" and "informative" news stories, KABC in Los Angeles decided to assign one of their most attractive reporters to do some hard-hitting journalism last night -- at the re-opening of L.A. strip joint, The Body Shop. No, they didn't make their reporter perform.

The Body Shop: Click to watch
But the story wasn't just a cheap attempt to attract viewers by showing trashy chicks wearing practically nothing (insert sarcasm here), it was a story about the economic hardships of our times -- anyone with a job is considered lucky.

Thankfully, the "legitimate" news informed us about one all important fact: If you can swing around a pole in a g-string, the place is hiring.

Shawn Johnson $cores Big with 'DWTS' Contract

Shawn Johnson is raking in the cash on "Dancing with the Stars" -- although she may not think it's worth the hassle of dealing with alleged stalker Robert O'Ryan ... and we have her contract to prove it.

We've obtained a copy of Shawn's "Dancing" contract -- a public document filed with the L.A. County Superior Court. A judge had to approve the deal because she's a minor. Under the contract, Shawn gets a guarantee of $125,000 for appearing on the show. By surviving the first elimination, she gets an additional $10,000 a week for weeks 3 and 4.

If Shawn survives the next eliminations, the rate doubles to $20,000 a week for weeks 5, 6 and 7. For weeks 8 and 9 she scores $30,000 a week.

And here's where it really gets sweet. In weeks 10 and 11, if Shawn makes it through, she gets $50,000 a week.

Total take if Shawn makes it to the final 2 -- $365,000.

Under the contract, Shawn must train approximately 20 hours a week. As for the all important issue of injuries ... the contract makes it clear that "Dancing" has no liability. It reads, "Artist releases Producer, Network ... from any and all claims ... arising from physical or other injury resulting from Artist's appearance in the Series..."

Nice work if you can get it.

The "Lost" Diary -- Namaste

LostWelcome back to another edition of The "Lost" Diary.

I have a startling confession to make -- I didn't know "Lost" was a re-run last week until about 5:30 PM PT. I had absolutely no clue. I avoid promos and commercials all week long, so I never heard about it. But this extra week off has me super excited for tonight. It's kinda like being in a boring marriage and we skipped "date night" one week and now it's back on.

9:00 -- Instead of a PREVIOUSLY ON LOST, we get a little of Lapidus in the cockpit. I always like a scene where you see something you've already seen before, but this time from a slightly different perspective.

Click here... it's not over yet
